NEXT CAMP COMING TO BISMARCK IN 2023

iCan Bike Camp is July 31 – August 4, 2023

iCan Bike uses a fleet of adapted bicycles,
a specialized instructional program and
trained staff to teach individuals with
disabilities how to ride a bike. Riders attend
the same 75-minute session each day for
five consecutive days whereby they are
physically assisted and encouraged
by two volunteer “spotters”

Over the course of the 5–day camp the
adapted bike is adjusted to gradually
introduce riders at their own individual pace.
The week is concluded with a touching and
inspiring award ceremony!

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS

Participants must be:

  • At least 8 years old
  • Able to walk without an assistive device and sidestep to both sides
  • Able to attend a 75-minute session each day of the 5-day camp
  • Under 220 lbs. and have a minimum inseam of 20”
  • Willing and able to wear a properly fitted bike helmet

DOES IT WORK

Parents, teachers, and therapists describe the results as incredible. By the end of the previous year’s iCan Bike camps, over 80% of the riders (ages 8-43) learned to ride a two-wheel bike independently. Learning to ride builds confidence and an improved self-image.

iCan Bike riders are ages 8 and up, teens, and sometimes adults who have a diagnosed disability. Riders must be able to walk without assistive devices and sidestep from side to side.

Cost to attend is $100.
